These are my absolute favourite snack of all time!
I’ve also got my mum hooked and every time I pop over there’s a tray in the fridge and my self-control has to come into play!
They are simple to wiz up in a food processor and no cooking involved- who can complain with that prep!
You can also play around with additional flavours: a bit of orange juice, some coffe syrup or some rose petals will add a twist.
The recipe:
- 100g walnuts (or hazelnut etc)
- Pinch of salt
- 100g pitted dates
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/3 cup cacao powder
- 3tbsp coconut oil
Blend the nuts to start and then add all the other ingredients and keep blending till it forms a sticky dough like substance. Pat down into a baking tray and then put in the fridge to set. Cut into squares/cubes/pieces or however you fancy to serve!
